Each year, Berkeley Symphony teams up with the Berkeley Unified School District to put on side-by-side in-school concerts with Berkeley elementary and middle school students as part of its Music in the Schools “I’m a Performer!” program. My job is to turn some of the simple tunes into over-the-top orchestra features. Here, Thousand Oaks Elementary School students play a bombastic rendition of “Mary Had a Little Lamb.”
